Utredningen har utfärdats av Ann-Mari Brandlöv i uppdrag av Kommunförbundet Norrbotten i syfte att kartlägga socialtjänstens medlingsverksamhet i Sverige. I Socialtjänstlagen finns en ny bestämmelse som innebär att kommunerna ska kunna erbjuda medling enligt Lagen om medling med anledning av brott i fall där gärningsmannen är under 21 år.De centrala frågeställningarna är: Vilka hinder och möjligheter finns för kommunerna att förmedla medlingsverksamhet bland ungdomar under 21 år?Synliggörs det några framgångsfaktorer i medlingsarbetet?Resultatet visar på att samtliga tillfrågade kommuner – i varierande utsträckning – bedriver någon form av medlingsverksamhet. Gemensamt för samtliga respondenter är att de betonar vikten av ett väl fungerande samarbete med andra kommuner och aktörer. Den främsta svårigheten med att bedriva en väl fungerande medlingsverksamhet är enligt respondenterna att få brottsoffer/brottsutövare motiverade till att delta i medlingen.Kartläggning

Two forthcoming seminars of the European Forum on 3-4-5 June 2009The first seminar entitled "Restorative Justice and Restorative Practices - Are they the same?" will deal with one of the core questions of restorative justice: the theoretical understanding of restorative justice and restorative practices, and their possible interrelatedness. The seminar will take place on the 3rd June 2009 from 9.30 till 12.30 in room 01.13 in the Nieuwe Valk building on the Faculty of Law, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Tiensestraat 41, 3000 Leuven, Belgium).
